Alex Richardson is a Managing Director of Selling Machine Partners.

Alex has 20 years of experience in building value in retail, high-growth and start-up technology companies including: TheLadders.Com, The Home Depot, Target Stores, JC Penney, Starbucks, Fidelity Investments, BMW Automotive, Borders Books, Ticketmaster, Bank of America/Fleet, Microsoft, IBM and many others. Alex's teams are adept at managing complex, worldwide projects for Fortune 100 companies, retailers, brands and emerging growth companies.

His focus on building competitive advantage consistently helps clients get to their next level of financial success.

In 2007, Selling Machine Partners received the highly coveted, Kioskcom Industry Innovator of the Year Award for work at a major luxury apparel brand.

Alex's client teams have won over 40 industry awards including the 2007 Kioskcom Best of Show award, 2007 Kioskcom Gold Award for Retail application, Retail Gold Award from The 4th Screen Awards (Feb 2007), Top 100 InfoWorld Magazine Award for Technology, Deloitte Fast 50, Frost and Sullivan’s Market Engineering Award, and Kiosk Magazine’s Gold Software Awards. Alex also won the Top 100 Multimedia Producer Award from AV/Multimedia Magazine in 1997 and has been featured in dozens of industry journals as well as in The Wall Street Journal.

Prior to founding Netkey, a leading retail software firm, Alex was President/Director Marketing & Sales of Lexitech Multimedia, a multimedia consulting and software firm and had brief stints at Oglivy & Mather Advertising (Account Exec/New York), ICF Consulting (Associate/ Washington, DC), and with US Representative Christopher Dodd (now US Senator).

Alex is a founding Board Member of the Digital Signage Association and President of the Self Service & Kiosk Industry Association (SSKA.ORG).

In addition to being a member of the National Ski Patrol, Alex has been involved with Special Olympics International since 1987. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Hygeia Foundation (a global community dedicated to maternal and childhood health and to the prevention of perinatal loss).

Alex has an MBA (Marketing/Finance) from Yale University.
